Honored and Humbled: Cecil Township Funeral Home Receives Recognition After Community Craft Event

A Special Day at Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services

At Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services in Cecil Township, we believe a funeral home should be more than a place people come during difficult times—it should be a place where the community can gather, connect, and support one another.

This Sunday, we had the honor of hosting an Easter craft event at our funeral home, bringing together families, friends, and neighbors to create handmade cards and crafts for residents at The Greenery Center for Rehab and Nursing. The turnout was incredible, and the room was filled with laughter, kindness, and purpose. I can’t wait to hand deliver each craft.

A Meaningful Moment

One of the highlights of the day was having District Magistrate Judge Lou McQuillan join us. He had previously donated supplies for our Valentine’s event when he couldn’t attend, so it meant a lot to have him there this time—participating alongside everyone else.

After the event, he presented me with two Letters of Recognition from the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania:

  • One recognizing me personally for my service and dedication, specifically as President of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association

  • One recognizing Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services for our commitment to the community

I was completely humbled.

To have someone who has supported me, show up, participate, and then recognize what we’re doing—it meant more than I can put into words.

One Year of Ownership

This moment comes just as I approach my one-year anniversary of owning Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services.

Over the past year, my goal has been simple: to create a space that not only serves families with care, compassion, and respect, but also brings the community together in meaningful ways.

This was a reminder that those efforts truly matter.

Thank You

To everyone who attended, donated, or supported this event—thank you. Especially Donna and Alayna, who brought supplies to today’s event!

We promise to keep showing up. Be on the lookout for the next event.
