Marcel Arthur ‘Marc’ Chauvet, 92, of Cecil Township was called to heaven on Monday, May 31. Marcel was born on November 11, 1928 in Sturgeon to Alfred and Jane Cadic Chauvet, the youngest of 9 siblings.

Marcel proudly worked at Russell Industries for 32 years as a Maintenance Superintendent. He was a member since 1975 of the Oakdale Masonic Lodge #669 F & AM where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, and involved with the Shrine, Knights Templar, and the Consistory. Marcel was a very active member of Noblestown United Presbyterian Church, being a Treasurer and Trustee for many years. Marcel lived a selfless Christian life always helping any family or friend that he could without hesitation. Marcel was passionate about gardening, hunting, fishing and celebrating Father’s Day Weekend at camp with his sons and grandsons. Family was the most important part of Marcel’s life.

Marcel and Shirley Chauvet were married after a 6 week courtship in 1957 and on June 21st they would have been married for 64 years. Marcel A. & Shirley Chauvet were inseparable and they raised 3 sons, Marcel S. (Lynne) Chauvet, Michael (Lisa) Chauvet and Matthew P. (Jessica) Chauvet. They were blessed to have 7 grandchildren Marcel Christopher (Amber), Ryan (Katie), Blake, Matthew T. (Megan), Nicole (deceased), Alex and Meghan Chauvet as well as 6 great-grandchildren, Laila, Marcel Vincent, Barrett, Greyson, Aubrie, and Dalton. Also survived are many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday, June 3, from 2-8 pm at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, PA where a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4, at 10:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Page Creach, officiating.

Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

Masonic services will be at 7:30 pm on Thursday, June 3. In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the Nicole Chauvet Scholarship Foundation in memory of Marcel’s granddaughter at www.nicolechauvetfoundation.org
