Emil Gene Fleischmann, 93 years old of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Canonsburg, Ohio, Virginia, and Long Island, died January 8, in Concordia of South Hills.

   He was born August 7, 1927 in Bay Shore, NY, Son of the late Emil and Marion Conklin Fleischmann.

   He served in the US Navy as a Coxswain Boat mate 3rd class during WWII.

   He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Peters Twp., a Lay Preacher, and former President of Bethany Lutheran, Waynesboro, VA., and  President of Patio Drive Home Association. He enjoyed sports, baseball, basketball, and football. He was an honorary scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

   He worked as an Agent for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans retiring in 1992.

   Surviving are his wife, Joan A. Fleischmann of Mt. Lebanon, four sons, Bruce A. (Cindy) Fleischmann, Fla, Barry A. (Susan) Fleischmann of Mt. Lebanon, Brian A, (Linda) Fleischmann of Delmont, PA,  Bret A. (Marjorie) Fleischmann of Bethel Park, 15 Grandchildren, and 12 great Grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Bart Fleischmann.

   At Mr. Fleischmann’s wish there will be no viewing, private interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.

   A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
