Alba Ambrose, 99, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully after being surrounded by family on Thursday, July 8, in Country Meadows. She had a long and treasured life.

   She was born May 1, 1922 in Monongahela, daughter of the late Ambrogio and Annunziata Biagi Smasoni.

   She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Cecil, and a former Christian Mother and member of St. Elizabeth Church in Lawrence. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, flowers, bingo and spending time with friends and family. Her house was the hub, where everyone congregated for big dinners or to sit on the porch to talk and maybe get some of her famous bean soup.

   She worked building landing crafts in Drovosburg during WWII, RCA in Meadowlands, Hahn’s Greenhouse and Country Meadows.

   Surviving are daughters, Elaine (David) Ruffing of Medina, OH and Cynthia (Daniel) Stacko of Cecil, sons, David (Peggy) Ambrose of Washington and Gary (Barbara) Ambrose of Bridgeville. Ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Brian, Meredith, Adam, Francis, Megan, Jeffrey, Lauren and Michelle and ten great-grandchildren, Ethan, Logan, Nathan, Coen, Josie, Isla, Emilia, Dominick, Marliana and Augustine.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francis ‘Frick’ Anthony Ambrose, sisters, Irma Marracini and Modesta Barontini, and a brother, Vasco Smasoni.

   Friends will be received 9:30AM-12:30PM., Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services 3378 Millers Run Road, Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said at 12:30 AM followed by a Christian Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Cecil at 1:00 with Father David Rombold officiating.    Interment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray, Pa
